ROBERT BICE - Robert Arthur Bice, 66, Waubun, formerly of Pelican Rap
ids, di ed Thursday, April 16, at Veterans Hospital in Fargo. Service s
were Tuesday , April 21, at the Mattson Chapel in Mahnomen, with th e Rev.
Frank Harrison- Rodgers officiating. Burial was in Riverside M emorial
Park cemetery in Mahn omen, with Ogema VFW giving military rit es.
He was born February 13, 1921 in Pelican Rapids, the son of Ernes t
and Genevieve Bice. He attended schools i n Pelican Rapids and Nayt
ahwaush. He moved from Pelican Rapids to the Littl e Elbow Lake are a
east of Waubun and in 1945 moved to his present residence in Lake G rove
Township. He was a farmer and woodsman.
He served in the Arm y from 1942 to 1945 and attained the rank of s
ergeant. He married Hilma Wand er on November 19, 1945 in Mahnomen.
Survivors include his wife, Hilma; five d aughters, Mrs. Albert (Am y)
McFarland, Bremerton, Wash., Mrs. Roy (Fay Ann) Smith, Waubun, Loi s
Glenna, Fergus Falls, Mrs. Arthur (Mary Jane) Etter, Lak e Crystal , and
Mrs. Dean (Irene) Swetland of Fort Riley, Kan.; three sons, K en neth,
Deer Lodge, Mont., Franklin of Waubun, and Ray of Moorhead; 1 8
gr andchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Mrs. Floy d
(Marie) M ilsten of Kent Wash., and Mrs. Ed (Avis) Hicks of Bremerto n,
Wash.
