The London Parishes database shows that Herbert married Louisa Sarah Kempton at St Mary Magdalene Church at Bermondsey on 6 September 1903. She was a 26 year-old spinster and daughter of George Kempton, upholsterer (deceased). Interestingly the certificate does not say Herbert's father, George, is deceased. The wedding was witnessed by Rhoda Celia Kempton, Alice Basden and John Balchin.

The Steve Whitby Family Tree on Ancestry.com tells us that Herbert died in 1947 and his wife Louisa in 1953. It continues that they had nine children: Eva Rhoda (1904-35), Constance (1906-1990), Cecilia (1909-97), Lawrence (1910-91), Herbert Ernest (1914-1992), Philip (1916-92), Megan (1917-2003) and two still living.

The Catherine House Index shows that a Herbert G. Setter died in the Westminster registration district of London in 1947. He was then 67 years old.
