The 1871 census shows George (9) living at Hythe with his parents and siblings Ellen Jane (6) and Walter James (4) where all except Ann had been born in West Hythe.

The 1881 census shows George (19) still living at Hythe with his parents and Walter (14) and Alice (8). All except Alice were born in West Hythe (Alice was born in Burmarsh).

The Catherine House records show that a George Arthur Cheeseman was married in the January quarter of 1887 in the Dover registration district (vol. 2a, page 1133). His spouse was Flora Eliza Goldup.

The 1891 census shows George Cheesman (29 year-old general labourer born at West Hythe) and his wife Flora (26, Wye Kent) living on Village St Ringwould near Dover. With them was their four year-old daughter Mabel who was born at West Hythe. I have not as yet been able to find them in the 1901 census. The 1911 census has George, a 49 year-old traction engine drive born at West Hythe and Flora (46, Wye) living at 'Dale View' on the London Road in Upper Deal in Kent. With them were their daughter Mabel (24, West Hythe), son Arthur (7, Upper Deal), niece Fanny Lilley (18, Kingsdown) and Flora's father Thomas Goldup (a 74 year-old farm labourer and widower who was born at Kensington). The census shows that George and Flora had been married 24 years and had two children both living.

The Catherine House index shows that a George A. Cheeseman, born in around 1862, died in the Eastry RD of Kent in 1933 (vol 2a, page 1937).
