O'Neal's in Hollywood This file contains the research results of a genealogy project which started out as an effort to determine the ancestors of actor Ryan O'Neal. As a rule, hollywood actors use stage names, but both Ryan and his father, who was a playwright in hollywood, used their real surname their entire career. This O'Neal family appears to be descended from a gruop of O'NEAL's who were in South Carolina just after the Revolutionary War.
