Nelson may have been ill or have died by 2/1895 since it was Mary Lewis Belcher rather than Nelson who applied for the marriage license for William and Annie.
In several censusues, Nelson says he was born in New York. Later censuses show the children claiming him to be from Pennsylvania. Was Pa. an interim stop from N.Y. to Ohio and stories from Pa. are what the children remember?
