ROYAL CENTER--Final rites for Theodore L. Smith, 55, 0f Rt. 1, Lucerne, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Garden Chapel, Royal Center, the Rev. Ken Suetterlin officiating. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Christian Cemetery. He died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital in Logansport where he had been a patient for one week.
Born June 7, 1915, in Twelve Mile, he was the son of James D. and Ella Sagester Smith. A Penn Central locomotive engineer, he was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church at Lucerne, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. On Feb. 9, 1936, he married Lydia Hoover, who survives.
Other survivors include two brothers; Lawrence of Peru, and Robert C. of Logansport; four sisters, Mrs. Florence Kistler of Grass Creek; Mrs. Josephine Hipes of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Hazel Walters of Monticello, and Mrs. Viola McDougle of Denver. One son, one daughter, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
