He was born 22 AUG 1874 in Halifax, Wabaunsee Co., Kansas, and died 3 FEB 1931 in Manhattan, Kansas. She married August SAMUELSON 24 JUL 1941 in Trinity Lutheran Church. He died 9 FEB 1956.     v. Elva Elmira MERRITT was born 27 FEB 1886, and died 13 JUN 1963. She married Max Friedrich BAMMES. He was born in Saxony, Germany, and died 4 JAN 1966.     vi. Jessie Augusta MERRITT was born 3 SEP 1888, and died 9 OCT 1984 in Topeka, Kansas. She married Frank August ALLEN, son of Charles Gustof ALLEN and Matilda PETERSON. He died 21 DEC 1961.
