He was the son of 2. Nicholas SCHMEHL SMEAL Sr.. He married Elizabeth VOLEK 23 DEC 1778 in First Trinity Luthern Church, Reading, PA, daughter of George VOLEK and Dorthea DAVIS. She was born 1755 in Windsor Twp., Berks Co., PA, and died 1798 in Maxatawney Twp., Berks Co., PA. He married Catherine KLINE (CLINE) 1799 in Centre Co. PA, daughter of Nicholas KLINE (CLINE) and Barbara. She was born 1775, and died 1824 in Bradford Twp., Clearfield Co., PA. She was buried in Perks Cemetary, Morrisdale, Clearfield Co, PA.

2. Nicholas SCHMEHL SMEAL Sr. was born ABT 1723 in Kassel, Germany, and died BEF 1778 in Maxatawney Twp., Berks Co., PA. He was the son of 4. Mathias SCHMEHL SMEAL.

1. i. Nicholas SCHMEHL SM was born 1752 in Maxatawney Twp. Berks County, PA, and died NOV 1827 in Bradford Twp., Clearfield Co., PA. He married Elizabeth VOLEK 23 DEC 1778 in First Trinity Luthern Church, Reading, PA, daughter of George VOLEK and Dorthea DAVIS. She was born 1755 in Windsor Twp., Berks Co., PA, and died 1798 in Maxatawney Twp., Berks Co., PA. He married Catherine KLINE (CLINE) 1799 in Centre Co. PA, daughter of Nicholas KLINE (CLINE) and Barbara. She was born 1775, and died 1824 in Bradford Twp., Clearfield Co., PA.

ii. Barbara SMEAL. She married John SUTOR.
