Mary Oxley and Isaiah Johnson moved from Bertie County, North Carolina, to Dobbs in 1758. Their descendants lived in the Dobbs/Lenoir/Greene area, and some moved south to Sumter District, South Carolina, Georgia, and Leon County, Florida, near Tallahasse
