The Brandt family of White County, Indiana, had its roots in Dammeretz, Vellahn Parish, Mecklenburg, Germany. This database contains the Vellahn records of about 700 residents who were related to the Brandt family in any way during the 18th and 19th centuries. Almost all of the entries in this database come from three LDS microfilms: 069632, 069633, and 069634. Many surnames found in White County, Indiana, appear in the Vellahn records also, although I haven't attempted to research the possible connections.

I attempted to include every Brandt and Behm record from the Vellahn books in this database. Researchers of other surnames may find additional entries in the Vellahn books which are not included here.
